Summer finally comes in Melbourne. I took a small trip to visit Gold Coast couple a couple of days ago. When the plane flies into or out the airport, it’s the gorgeous part. Unstoppable coast line! In terms of Gold Coast, while you are there, you’ll know.

I just provided some practical tips about transportation, cafe’ and restaurant, since I spent a lot of time reading a book in the parks.

1. Public Transportation (Gold Coast airport to Surfers Paradise)
A little bit trouble, honestly. However, it’s a cheapest way. First, you can’t buy Go Card at the airport, so the only way is buy a paper ticket, which is more expensive than with Go Card. You have to travel between 2 zones, so it costs 5.7 AUD in 2016 and validates 2 hours. If you have gold card, it just costs 3.9 AUD.

Route 777 bus will take you to Broadbeach station. It takes approximately 30 minutes. Then, just take G link tram to get off at Cavill Avenue station. About 11 minutes. Please see TransLink to check updated transportation. If you like me, stay at Surfers Paradise YHA. It situates at Main Beach, you can get off at Main Beach Station. Then take route 704 bus to get there or by walking, 3 minutes or 20-25 minutes, respectively.

Or you can book shuttle bus at the airport. It’s door to door service. Fast and more expensive. One way 22-45 AUD. Depends on where you live.

2. ESPL. Coffee Brewers
Coffee is definitely above average. The most important is great view of the beach!!!

3. Hurricane’s Grill & Bar Surfers Paradise
I love their special Pork Belly. Crispy and yummy. Capsicum is also great. Source is the light of this dish. Staffs are incredibly helpful and friendly. However, the tap water tastes really awful.

4. The 4217
At first, I was there because I waited for the Greyhound bus. There are bunch of things you can do here, such as fitness, food and artery things. Kind of mixed of pop-up culture. Just converge some local community here. It’s a pity that most people don’t notice here.

opening hours: 07:00 till late
