<WH in Australia> Cozy, but comfort Adelaide

Luckily, I went to Adelaide last week. Definitely good for weekend trip! Below are my recommendation.

1. Firefly
I mentioned Greyhound Australia before. However, I took Firefly bus from Melbourne to Adelaide. It just costed me 60 AUD and 10 hours. After getting off the bus, you might see the city map on the wall or get the map in the information center.

2. Sunny’s Adelaide Backpackers Hostel
Just 100 meters away from bus station. After long bus traveling, you definitely need a place  to stay. This is a good place to live. They open almost all the time. The staffs are so friendly and helpful. Also, the price is quite fair.

Address: 139 Franklin Street, Adelaide SA, 5000
Phone: (08)8231-2430

3. My Kingdom for a Horse
Want to grab a coffee and breakfast. Come here! Latte art is for sure pretty good.

Address: 191 Wright Street, Adelaide SA, 5000
Opening hours: 07:00 – 16:00 (public holiday 08:00 – 16:00)

4. BikeSA
There are many ways to see Adelaide. Except public transportation, you can use the free service in Adelaide. BikeSA is the biggest places to rent bikes and available on the weekends. Bring your ID and get a bike and helmet, then just go! Another renting spots, please see here. I recommend to go along the River Torrens. No rush, no pressure!

5. Adelaide Central Market
It was officially opened in 1870. They provide variety of produce here. Locals like to eat and drink here. Not so big place but good for shopping. Not matter you’re locals or tourists, don’t miss out here!

Address: 44 – 60 Gouger Street, Adelaide SA, 5000
Opening hours: (Tuesday) 07:00 – 17:30; (Wednesday and Thursday) 09:00 – 17:30; (Friday) 07:00 – 21:00; (Saturday) 07:00 – 15:00; (Sunday and Monday) closed

6.  Art Gallery of South Australia
I really like the way they present the exhibitions, which they gather different topics artists wanted to answer regarding specific topics. Kind of remix old and new art! Free for general admission.

Address: North Terrace, Adelaide SA, 5000
Opening hours: 10:00 – 17:00

7. South Australian Museum
Kids might love this so much. Bunch of animals. If you like life science and are interested in natural life, it’s a place you must visit. My favorite is pacific cultures gallery. This is the most special when you travel in Australia.

Address: North Terrace, Adelaide SA, 5000
Opening hours: 10:00 – 17:00

8. Glenelg Beach
Just 30 mins tram away from Adelaide city. Shop, eat and play here. If you have a good bike and want to exercise, just ride here and enjoy the sunshine!

9. Adelaide Festival Centre
I saw a theatre “Rumpelstilskin” here. They change the story line to a brand new tale. It was easy to see for everyone. I like the music they sang. The visual art and animation are quite awesome, even though the body is a little bit rigid. Overall, it was a wonderful experience here.

10. Hahndorf
40 – 50 mins bus away from Adelaide city. Take 864 bus to Hahndorf main street. Go get some souvenirs or best ever German beer here. 3 wishes candle barn is my top choice. Also, bakery or pastries are really good. Not fancy but satisfied!

Adelaide is kind of like a University city. City center is full of university buildings. For short trips, it’s a really good choice. It’s pity that I miss out Samstag Museum. However, there is always somewhere you don’t get, and then one day you’ll come back.
