“…I can’t imagine the painter of the future living in small restaurants, setting to work with a lot of false teeth, and going to the Zouaves’ brothels as I do. But I’m sure I’m right to think that I will come in a later generation, and it is up to us to do all we can to encourage it, without question or complaint. (Vincent Willem van Gogh)”
I introduced Useful information in Berlin or similar in Germany about library service in Berlin few weeks ago. It seems like many people are interested in it so I wanted to tell you I have an another secret place. Maybe many people would know, especially students.
Yes, it is Universitätsbibliothek der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (University Library of Humboldt). It’s open to public but you may need a library card. If you’re over 16 and not a Humbolt student, just bring your Id card/passport and registration certification and apply it with no charge.
Very impressive and well-collected library. It’s good for reading. It’s open from 8:00 to 24:00 on weekdays. However, on weekend it’s 10:00 – 22:00. Good, right? If you like to turning the pages, touch the papers or smell the old book, you’ll like here. Come and find a place to enjoy here.
