<WH in Germany> Great Rome

(Originally wrote on 07/18/2012 and modified on 05/14/2015)

Although the transportation of inter-city in Italy is quite expensive, it’s cheap if you take trains to arrive another city and plan smartly. Trenitalia is the biggest of train company. They offer Base, economy, super economy price. Super economy is always best price, but you have to make sure you won’t change your schedule. Italotreno also have similar offer but higher price and better service. Remember what the Italy man in Munich said, “Just open your mind and enjoy.” Even I barely understood Italy English accent, I still found the store what she said and finally bought the adapter which is suitable for world wide because my ex-adapter is only for part of Germany and France. LOL Body language is not always out of fashion. 2012-07-19 11.08.18

Back to Rome, over two thousand years, from ancient Rome, Rome Kingdom, Rome Republic, Rome Empire, Middle Ages, Renaissance to modern city. We have to say, “Rome was not built in a day.” Open your eyes to see what they made in the past instead of by camera. Delicate, giant, gorgeous, unbelievable!

Colosseum (Colosseo), which was built in 70-80 AD and is a biggest amphitheater, was used to hold special shows, like Gladiator or animal hunt, etc. If you’re interested in Colosseum, perhaps you can consider Roma Pass, two museums and free city transportation. Due to number limit in Colosseum, normally it will delay your time to access. However, if you have Roma Pass instead of buying ticket in there, it’s supposed to be a quick way.

Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) has been seen in many movies, such as Roman Holiday. There’s a legend here if traveler throws one coin, you’ll back to Rome. However, you’ll see lots of people in front of Trevi Fountain, just be careful of your pockets when you make a wish. Hope you’ll dream come true.

Fountain of the Four Rivers (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi), Baroque style, was designed in 1651. It represents four rivers to each continents. Nile to Africa. Danube to Europe. Ganges to Asia. Río de la Plata to America.

Pantheon, almost two thousand years building, has seen so many activities here. After countless wars, what do we have?

I was evaporated in these days in Rome. It is hot and dry in Rome. I suffered heatstroke today. Even foreigners use chinese-umbrellas to prevent the big sun. When you walk in Rome, you can always see the remains. You will understand “Rome was not built in a day.” Rome is a noisy city because there are many visitors here. The weather is very hot, so it is difficult to visit the city. You just go through Colosseo, Fontana di Trevi, Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, and Pantheon. I was impressed at vendors, because they always sell paper-umbrellas, hats, sunglasses, fake bags, weird toys. However, the sculptures here are so funny. I love them so much.

I think that the history of past is important, but if you can not look forward, this will be lock yourself. Finally, you can do nothing. This is a feeling that I think of Italy.
